Business associations on both banks of the Dniester have improved their organizational capacities, providing services to members, and the capacity to disseminate knowledge, experience and best practices. This was possible due to the „Cooperation and organizational development support for business associations on both banks of the Nistru River” Project.
The duration of the project was two years (December 2015 – December 2017), during which 10 business associations from both banks of the Dniester were supported by various instruments in their development. The 10 Associations have been supported in developing or updating strategic development plans and supported in the implementation of some important planned actions by awarding grants of USD 5,000 per beneficiary.
Approximately 16 thematic trainings were organized and carried out for both business associations and their members. Between May 2016 and May 2017, members of the associations and the executive staff participated in two study visits in countries of the European Union (Poland and Lithuania) to pick up experience and best practices. At the same time, 4 study visits were organized at Business Associations on both banks of the Dniester which allowed the establishment of new contacts and the formation of common platforms for the purpose of creating partnerships between associations on both banks of the Dniester.
Three partnerships between associations on both banks of the Dniester were created within the project in order to implement joint activities, benefiting of an additional grant worth 3000 USD each.
The project is part of the „Support to Confidence Building Measures (SCBM) Programme”,funded by European Union and implemented by the UNDP Moldova, technical assistance in the project being provided by AO Alternative Internaționale de Dezvoltare (Chisinau) in partnership with the Training and Consulting Center Yahont (Bender) and RD Consulting (Poland).
